At WeAgile we have always been passionate about the next generation of digital leaders. Last year we had an amazing opportunity to meet college students to talk with them, answer their questions and inspire them to pursue careers in digital.
This year we want to keep working with students so on 10th November the WeAgile team will spend a day with Kingsmead School’s students as part of BIMA Digital Day – an initiative that takes place every year in schools across the country to encourage pupils to discover what a career in digital could mean for them.
What is Digital Day?
The only initiative of its kind, BIMA Digital Day gives 11-16 year olds an insight into a world of digital careers. Students compete in a sponsored, nationwide digital challenge for a chance to win £500 cash for their school and some fantastic prizes for themselves.

Why Does Digital Day Matter?
It’s a day that brings digital to life. And if previous years are anything to go by, it’s a day that changes lives.
BIMA Digital Day came about after BIMA discovered that 95% of its members reported a lack of skills holding back their growth. This was supported by the Centre for Economics and Business Research saying that the shortage of tech and digital talent is costing the UK £21.8bn. With digital growing at twice the rate of the broader economy, the skills shortage is in dire need of addressing. BIMA Digital Day pairs schools with digital industry experts to bring students an insight into this world and to inspire them with what is possible in this thriving industry.
BIMA Digital Day Quick Facts
- 90% of past participants say they would consider a career in digital as a direct result of the day.
- Students will submit their activities to be judged by a panel of experts with winning schools awarded a cash prize.
- BIMA Digital Day works with challenge partners to create real-world briefs for students to work on. Past partners include Vodafone UK, The FA, BBC Studios, Microsoft and Channel 4.
WeAgile are delighted to be supporting BIMA Digital Day on November 10th 2021, to help us promote digital careers to thousands of young people across the UK.
